The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art invites you to experience a vibrant weekend where art meets nature in beautiful Bedford County. In collaboration with the historic Omni Bedford Springs Resort & Spa, Paint Bedford County brings artists and the community together for a dynamic plein air painting event and sale.

Friday & Saturday: Watch as talented regional artists transform the landscape into living works of art. From the resort grounds to scenic locations throughout Bedford County, the area becomes an open-air studio. Visitors are encouraged to explore, observe the creative process, and connect with artists as they paint in real time.

Artists: Register by May 22, 2026 to participate in this premiere outdoor painting event. A $35 non-refundable fee applies, and space is limited to 50 artists. Check-in begins Friday, May 22 at 9:30 a.m. at SAMA Bedford. Cash awards for Best of Show, Award of Excellence, and Honorable Mention are generously sponsored by local businesses. Discounted lodging is available at Omni Bedford Springs for artists registered by May 1.

Sunday Wet Sale | 1–4 PM: Conclude the weekend by collecting original artwork created during the event. Enjoy a cash bar and the opportunity to purchase fresh, one-of-a-kind pieces directly off the easel. Admission is free, making it a perfect outing for seasoned collectors and first-time art buyers alike.
